Add a Commentgood! but The Way of Kings is WAY better
Not only does Sanderson create one unique magic system in this series, he creates two! This author outdoes himself this time. Each character is unique, and their magic type fits along with their personality. The world is thorough and complex, and the author always has more to reveal. All three books keep up the same level of excellence.
The Mistborn trilogy has some extraordinary types of non-human peoples in an unusual world. This is more than just the usual sword and sorcery story. The characters have depth and the "magic" involved is of a novel type. The plot is gripping and unpredicatble.
interesting characters, good plot, well written
Awesome book, awesome trilogy! It was very difficult to put this book down at times. I don't regret the late night reading until the wee hours of the morning. I liked these so much I had to read everything else I could find that Brian wrote. If you are as enthralled as I am, check out Robert Jordans Wheel of Time series. Brian Sanderson completed two books in the series after Robert Jordan passed away.
I enjoyed this book so much that I went and bought the Trilogy Set.
My nephew recommended this book to us via his school librarian, my son couldn't put it down so he read the trilogy back to back, he shared it with his friend who also could not put it down. Definitely a good sci-fi
In my humble opinion, the best fatasy book ever. Unpredictable, novel, thoughtful, with suspense, romance, action... what more could you ask for? Sanderson handles a dozen main characters and never lets them feel like "cardboard cut-outs" as a placeholder for an actual person. They are each distinctive in experience, motivation, talent, social skills, speech patterns. Some characters undergo slow but natual development over the course of the 3 books. A true trilogy, where some mysteries in the first book aren't revealed until the end of book three. A true masterpiece.
good character development, nice prose, and a fast-paced, action-packed novel. all three books in the trilogy are entertaining in themselves.
Oh, Brandon Sanderson...it's a mystery how you live with your insane levels of genius. Sanderson takes fantasy to the next level as he turns the classic "hero that saves to world" theme on its side. He brings yet another highly complex magic system...two in fact, and never lets the reader rest. There's action every minute. The characters are infinitely complex, as is the plot. This is a seriously substantial book; if you want a REAL read, pick it up. Anything Mr. Sanderson touches is golden, man.
